- Mason 28, Hamilton 7 – FINAL
Mason has now won nine of the last 10 meetings of this GMC rivalry after grinding out a win Friday night. The two clubs combined for only 262 yards of offense, but Mason was able to capitalize on a pair of Hamilton turnovers. Quinten Kaylor ran for 42 yards and two touchdowns for the Comets, while Shelvon Hibbet (68 yards) and Nick Sailers (30 yards) also found the endzone. Hamilton’s lone score came on Jaylan Garrett’s three-yard touchdown run late in the fourth quarter. Sailers forced a fumble for the Mason defense, which was recovered by Carson McCoon. Weston Simmons provided the other takeaway with an interception and 48-yard return. Mason has now allowed just seven offensive points in back-to-back games to start the season.
